You may have noticed that some of the gardens next to the Rectory have been cleared of English Ivy. It has been growing uncontrolled…until now. Tom Feulner proposed to Fr. Canisius that these areas become a
Respect Life Garden, and with his blessing work began.
Statues will be purchased and flowers will be planted. Please put
Saturday, November 13 (weather permitting) on your calendars for a
Parish Day of Service. Many hands make for light work! You do not have to be skilled... just be able to help.
Please come and help starting at 9:00 AM as we clear additional sections of the parish grounds. Bring your garden gloves, flower pruners, a rake, and/or broom. We should finish around lunchtime.
We have been tasked with eliminating the ivy from the parish grounds. This ivy, planted as a ground cover, has been growing unchecked and threatens the trees and bushes by growing up them, choking and killing them. The weeds have taken over sections of the grounds as well. Plot by plot, the ivy and weeds will be pulled up and the gardens replanted.
The St. Charles grounds will soon be a place of blooming flowers and shrubs, and pollenating insects…a place abuzz with life. Contact Tom or Sandy Feulner at 443-352-8858 or
[email protected] or
[email protected] if you have any questions. Thank you!
