A new procedure is being used for
sanitizing when Holy Communion is being distributed. When it is necessary for the priest, deacon, or EM to sanitize fingers following a person's reception of the Eucharist on the tongue, it will be accomplished by the dipping of fingers in one bowl containing a high percentage alcohol, followed by a rinsing in a bowl containing saline water, and then a drying on the towel.
It is hoped that this effective procedure will diminish any sanitizer being transferred onto the Host.
